Installation of MetaTrader 4 Demonstrator Software
Vampire Trading Network, Inc. leverages two MetaTrader 4 brokerage platforms from FXDD which is strictly FOREX and from Alpari, which offers Stock CFD's which tracks some of the top American Stocks using the MT4 platform.
Vampire Trading Network, Inc. provides these MT4 platforms as a demonstrator, with our Strategy Plugins already installed. They are available from the Downloads Page which is always accessible from the Vampire Trading Room Home Page.
The installation of the FXDD Demonstrator and Alpari Demonstrator are identical.
- Launch one of the MetaTrader Demonstrator with the links above.
Internet Explorer: Depending on your browser, the installer will have a different
browser launcher. For Internet Explorer, the installer will allow for the option to RUN the
installer directly without downloading it first. We suggest that you save it to your Desktop VTN Downloads
directory that you created for the Chat Room installer.
Firefox: The Firefox browser typically does not allow the user to run an application
directly from source do to security reasons. Save the installer to your Desktop VTN Downloads
directory that you created for the Chat Room installer.
When you run the Installer a security warning will appear similar to that shown to the
right. You can trust us, go ahead and "Run" the program.
The opening window of the VTN MetaTrader 4 Demonstrator Installer will pop up. Click the
"Next" Button.
Next you need to READ!!!! and agree to the license agreement. You will not get the
next button until you click on the "I agree to the above terms and conditions radio
button.
This step is the installation of the MetaTrader 4 Platform. We very much implore you
to let the installer install the program to our Vampire Trading Network directory in the
Program Files.
You can change the installation directory by clicking the browse button that has " ... "
Now click "Next".
Press "Start", to begin the installation process. It will only take a few minutes
with today's computers.
Having completed the installation process, you are able to start the program directly
after the installation. If you do not want the program to self launch, uncheck the check box.
and then press "Next".
This final window will pop-up. It is an advertisement from the installation software
company as part of our agreement to license their software. Simply press "Exit".- To finalize the installation you need to create a demo account for yourself. These account
do not cost any money, and usually remain active for 30-90 days.
The first step to creating your demo account is to open the "File" drop down
menu and select "Open an Account"
Simply fill out the Personal Details Form and check the "I agree to subscribe to
your newsletters" check box. In over three years of using MT4 I have not heard of anyone
receiving a newsletter. Occasionally the broker will call once to see if you are interested
in converting your account to a live account, this is rare.
The next thing to do is pick a server. click the "Scan" button to see if
any additional servers have been added since the installer was released. On the right side
is a listing of the Server Ping, which is a measurement of the data latency between you the
client and the MT4 data server. Highlight the server line that has the smallest Ping in ms.
Press "Next" to continue
The registration process is completed with this window. You will hear
some bings or bongs and then the classic "You've Got Mail swoosh". This indicates that you
have been logged on to the system and are all set to start using the Vampire Trading
Network Strategies.
Look to the bottom right hand corner of the MetaTrader 4 application
window. There is a bar meter with a diagonal separator. The top left triangle represent the
incoming data connectivity from the server. The bottom right diagonal represents the
outgoing data connectivity to the server. These diagonals should always be green, the top
for bar data feed and the bottom for order placement.
